Christy Burzio in an experienced and recommended barrister in Property law with expertise in housing disrepair and sub-letting, social housing, complex possession claims, residential and commercial service charges, forfeiture, tenants’ rights to first refusal, neighbour disputes, property related injunctions, landlord and tenant litigation including tenancy deposit claims.
Christy already has considerable experience in multi-track trials and has appeared in the High Court and Court of Appeal. She is extremely thorough in her approach and is always client focused.
Christy was awarded a doctorate in Law from King’s College London. Before coming to the Bar, Christy enjoyed a successful academic career. She has lectured at Russell Group Universities and has been published worldwide.
Christy has written a dedicated chapter in the hotly anticipated publication ‘Building Safety Act 2022’ (ed. Andrew Butler KC and Ian Quayle, Law Society, forthcoming 2024)
On 3 November 2022, Christy was appointed to the Bar Standard Board’s Independent Decision-Making Body. This body hears cases of apparent breaches of the BSB Handbook and administrative decisions related to licences and authorisations. She has been appointed for a three-year term
