Kerstin Boyd has three principal areas of practice: private client, clinical negligence and personal injury.

Areas of expertise

Kerstin deals with all aspects of family law from financial claims to private law children matters. However her main focus is matrimonial finance. She has extensive experience in high value cases, but is equally at home dealing with cases involving more limited assets where the search for resolution can be equally challenging. She also deals regularly with cohabitee disputes involving claims under TOLATA 1996 and Schedule 1 of the Children Act as well as Financial Provision and claims under the Inheritance Act. She is recommended as a leading junior in both the Chambers UK and Legal 500 directories.

Kerstin is listed in Legal 500 as a leading junior. She undertakes work on behalf of both Claimants and Defendants. She has been regularly instructed on behalf of the London Fire Brigade in relation to claims arising out of the workplace, and has represented the Authority at a number of Inquests including the 7/7 Inquest. She has extensive experience in all areas of personal injury law including employers liability claims, asbestos related claims, road traffic / highway claims and occupational stress, and regularly deals with high value claims.

Kerstin is recommended in the Legal 500 as a leading junior in clinical negligence and health care. Her practice covers a wide range of claims on behalf of Claimants including mismanaged births, delayed diagnosis, lack of informed consent, negligent treatment / surgery and spinal injuries. Particular cases of interest have included failure to diagnose haemochromatosis, a failure to properly supervise a psychiatric inpatient leading to his attempted suicide, ruptured cervix during childbirth and delayed diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
