Following a year of substantial growth, Tanfield Chambers has once again been ranked highly in the Legal 500 directory. The set has solidified its position amongst the top property sets being ranked at tier two. The directory stated:

A top property set’, which was historically better known as a ‘tour de force for leasehold enfranchisement’, landlord and tenant, and service charges work, Tanfield Chambers’ commercial real estate experience is ‘considerable and growing’, and the set is now ‘used extensively by City firms for a broad range of property litigation’ matters. Solicitors also note that the set is ‘making a name for themselves in the right to light arena’. And when it comes to residential property instructions, ‘from silks down to the juniors, the fact they deal with residential work on a regularly basis really shows’.The ‘very collegiate set’ has members with ‘high technical standards’. ‘Their strength in depth is a real asset as they have a vast range of counsel from the junior to senior end. There is always someone that is available to take on matters.’ In recent news, Nicholas Isaac took silk in 2019. Eamonn Kelly is the set’s CEO.

The practice management team were also praised, with each of our senior practice managers being noted for their ability to provide excellent service to our clients.

The senior practice managers are Alex Southern, the ‘personable and likeableBilly Forecast (‘has an uncanny ability to choose the right counsel for each piece of work both from a technical and budget perspective’), and Richard Powell, who ‘is a great addition to clerks’ room’.
