Peter D Cameron appointed as an arbitrator to ICSID panel

Peter D Cameron, an associated tenant at Tanfield, has been appointed as an arbitrator to a panel at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Peter is a specialist in energy law and has acted as an expert witness in more than two dozen arbitral and court proceedings. He has delivered testimony before the LCIA, the┬áICC in Paris, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Institute. The subject matter of ICSID Case No ARB/16/18, Infracapital F1 S.a.r.l. and Infracapital Solar B.V. v Spain, is investment in photovoltaic plants, and is brought under the Energy Charter Treaty. It concerns legal reforms affecting the renewable energy sector, including a 7 per cent tax on power generators’ revenues and a reduction in subsidies for renewable energy producers.
