The inaugural Tanfield Chambers Service Charge Summit took place yesterday, 1st October 2013 at ETC Venues, 200 Aldersgate, St Paul's, London EC1A 4HD.

Organised by News on the Block, and attended by more than 130 solicitors, managing agents and other property professionals, the summit included a case law update from Philip Rainey QC, talks by Mark Loveday and Daniel Dovar, both judges in the new First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber), and workshops by members of Chambers.

The day concluded with a Q&A session on topics ranging from the contents of notices under section 20B(2) of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 to whether a landlord could forfeit a lease having refused to accept ground rent.

Feedback on the day was very positive. We hope that the summit will become an annual event, and we look forward to working with News on the Block next year on the 2014 summit.
