Profile

Gerald Wilson principally deals with family financial disputes. His practice focuses on:

  • Ancillary relief in both marriage and civil partnership
  • Trusts of land
  • Inheritance Act claims and probate
  • Claims under the Children Act, Schedule 1

He regularly appears in both Family and Chancery courts. He is equally at home with family and civil procedure and is happy to guide solicitors unfamiliar with either procedure.

He also acts in private law children cases, particularly in respect of same-sex couples.

Gerald regularly gives talks on civil partnership and trusts of land, particularly for Central Law Training.

Ancillary Relief
Gerald has experience in all aspects of ancillary relief, from modest cases requiring imaginative solutions to the more technical problems of high value cases involving business valuations, family trusts, assets abroad, Self Invested Personal Pensions or tax liabilities. He often deals with the rights of creditors and other the third parties in ancillary relief, e.g. acting for and against mortgagees; other family members; cases involving bankruptcy.
