Public Access
Since July 2004 the public have been able to approach and instruct barristers directly for certain purposes, instead of having to instruct a barrister through a solicitor. This is called Public Access (“PA”).
PA is ideal for organised individuals and businesses that are working on a budget. It means that they can take expert advice directly, and often at a fee well below the fees of a solicitors’ firm. It means that they can gain a rapid insight into their legal problem.
Tanfield Chambers is one of the largest Chambers in the country. Barristers within Tanfield Chambers have experience of litigation at all levels within the jurisdiction, from local County Courts to the House of Lords. Some of our barristers are qualified mediators and arbitrators.
The Tanfield Chambers PA Team offers a team of 16 barristers that you can instruct directly. The team offers expertise in the following areas:
- Commercial disputes
- Employment and Discrimination law
- Landlord and Tenant law
- Property disputes
- Contractual disputes (generally)
- Personal Injury
- Construction industry contracts and disputes
- Consumer law
- Debt actions
- Partnership disputes
- Insolvency
- Company law
- International Litigation and International Dispute Resolution
- Family law
Tanfield Chambers PA Team accepts instructions from individuals, companies, local authorities, housing associations, charities etc
