Welcome to the website of Tanfield Chambers, a modern Chancery set of barristers’ chambers in London.
Tanfield continues to move with the times. For many years a multi-disciplinary set, Chambers is now refining its areas of expertise and focussing on four core areas of work: Property, Business & Commercial, Employment and Private Client. Alongside those core areas, we continue to offer expertise in fields such as care work and personal injury and of course the niche areas such as licensing and gaming for which our practitioners are renowned. We have also embraced Direct Public Access work since it was first introduced and have many years experience in accepting instructions on that basis.
The development of these core areas of work represents another step in the progression which has seen us earn glowing reviews from the legal directories. The Legal 500 awards Tanfield “Leading Set” status this year and praises its “client-focussed approach”. Chambers & Partners 2012 states that Chambers has made “significant strides in improving its profile and offering”, and specifically comments on our “good-value, approachable and responsive” barristers. This is key; even the best barrister is nothing without the ability to relate to his or her clients, and however effusive our reviews we will be striving not to lose sight of that essential quality.
The directories also make mention of our “highly acclaimed” senior clerk Kevin Moore, and he would be the first to admit that much of that acclaim is due to the excellent team working under him. We invite you to contact that team to see how Chambers can help you.
