Access keys
Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the website. Windows users, you can press ALT + an access key. Macintosh users, you can press Control + an access key. All pages on this site define the following access keys which where applicable are those adopted as U.K. Government Standards:- S = Skip the navigation

Standards compliance
- All pages on this site are WCAG AAA approved, complying with all Priority Level 1, 2 and 3 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. We have strived to comply with this where possible; many of the guidelines are intentionally vague. They require a subjective assessment and cannot be tested using any of the third party automatic validators. We have reviewed the guidelines and believe that all pages comply.
- All pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
- All cascading style sheets (CSS) validate using the W3C CSS Validator.
Navigation aids
- All pages contain a 'skip content and go to navigation' link for speech browser users. Pages have been set up to deliver the pages main content first, ahead of navigation, so that speech browser users access information they want more immediately. The 'skip content' link allows these users to move quickly past page content, if it is not useful to them, and on to navigation links. Windows users press ALT + key 's', Macintosh users press Control + key 's' to jump the speech browser past the main content on a page and to begin reading out the navigational links on that page.
- There is a site map which allows quick access to all site pages (access key 3).

- Where necessary, links have a title attribute which describes the target in greater detail.
Images
All content images used in this site include a descriptive ALT attribute.Visual Design
- This site uses cascading style sheets (CSS) for visual layout.
- If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets or stylesheets are switched off, the content of each page is still readable and the site fully navigable.
- This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers.
