Professor Subedi appointment

Professor Surya P. Subedi O.B.E. of the University of Leeds and an Associate Member of Tanfield Chambers, has been appointed by the Government of Nepal a member of the Governing Board of the National Trust for Nature Conservation. The law establishing the Trust makes a provision for appointment of persons of international repute to the Governing Board of the Trust and Professor Subedi was appointed under this provision. Established three decades ago, it was known as the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation until the country became a republic recently. It is the main Nepalese body responsible for the conservation of nature, flora and fauna.
Professor Subedi is a professor of international law who has specialised in, among other areas, international environmental law, including the law on the management and conservation of nature and natural resources in South Asia in general and Nepal in particular.
