Tanfield Chambers is a London-based set of barristers’ chambers which encapsulates much of what is best about the modern bar.
The result of a 2001 merger between two established Temple sets of barristers’ chambers, overnight Tanfield became one of the largest sets in London. Since then it has gone from strength to strength, culminating in a short-listing for both The Lawyer Magazine’s 2009 Barristers’ Chambers of the Year Award and The British Legal Awards Chambers of the Year.
While we welcome such accolades, we always remember that the real success of any barristers’ chambers is the service it provides to its clients. We pride ourselves on offering a service which provides not only legal expertise but responsiveness and approachability as well.
Members of chambers practise under six main practice areas, being Property, Business & Commercial, Family, Employment, Personal Injury & International Dispute Resolution, but offer niche specialisms both inside and outside these areas.
We also have a burgeoning Direct Public Access group.Unusually for a barristers’ chambers, each practice area has a dedicated team of clerks, ensuring that enquiries from both lay and professional clients are properly and effectively dealt with. Our members practice both in London and nationwide.
I hope you find what you require here on our website, but please contact our Senior Clerk, Kevin Moore or a member of his team if we can assist you further.
