Profile

Charlotte has been honing her skills as a matrimonial barrister since she was called and is particularly specialist in ancillary relief.

She is known for applying herself equally to day-to-day as well as complex cases and for dealing with clients who are going through a difficult time in their lives; she has a sympathetic ear and a down-to-earth manner that makes going to court an easier experience for clients. However her court manner itself is very determined and steely resulting in favourable settlements after lengthy negotiations where settlements were often not expected, and good results whenever at trial.   She is most adept at assimilating a great volume of information in a short space of time.

Predominately operating as a financial (both ancillary relief and cohabitation) lawyer, she is adept at simplifying difficult and complicated cases for the judge and for the client, and has often instructed forensic accountants and experts.

Charlotte is now qualified to accept Direct Access clients.

When not with clients or at court, Charlotte likes to indulge in her passions for horse-riding, travel, boxing and singing… not always all together!

Experience

Charlotte has vast experience in all areas of family law including private child law, domestic violence injunctions, cohabitation law, divorce law, and pre and post nuptial settlements.

Charlotte has had significant trial and negotiation (both at Family Dispute Resolution and round table) experience. She has had many lengthy effective trials, mostly at the Principal Registry and is consistently against far more senior counsel.

She has given lectures on child abduction, and post and pre nuptial settlements and has advised on child maintenance, high and low net worth financial cases and conduct points.
