Profile

Catriona’s practice divides between employment law and family law.

Employment
Catriona has experience in most areas of employment law. She is regularly in the employment tribunals and has represented clients in professional conduct hearings, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and the Court of Appeal. In addition to representation and advice on litigation, Catriona has advised on contracts, procedures and other non-contentious matters.

Catriona has been instructed by local authorities since 1995. As a result, she has a good understanding of the pressures facing those working in the public sector and the needs of the diverse and sometimes economically deprived communities that they serve.

Family
In family, Catriona covers a full range of work, from public law proceedings relating to children to Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 claims. Catriona has a particular interest in matrimonial and quasi-matrimonial finance, including financial provision for the children of unmarried parents under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.
